The new $4.6 Billion Campaign by Bill Gates

Philanthropy for quite a while had  a champion, someone who makes America proud. That is the well known Microsoft  genius, Bill Gates.

Based on a filing shown June, 2017, by the Securities and Exchange Commission, $4.6 billion in Microsoft shares was transferred to his charity, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation

Later that week, Bill Gates announced his campaign to combat the spread of malaria. His pitch: the Gates Foundation will donate a mosquito net for every person who reads his latest blog post and takes a subsequent quiz. Dubbed the “Mosquito Wars,” the campaign is part of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation’s effort to improve life of those affected by malaria.

Each net donated will be distributed to families living in Inhambane, in the City of Mozambique, where the disease is still widespread, and will be managed by World Vision, a nonprofit organization.
